ISO 9001: 2008
www.iso.org/iso
The ISO 9001 standard is an internationally recognised quality management standard. This standard
represents an international consensus on good quality management practices. It does not provide a
measure of the quality of goods or services; it is a standard for evaluating an organisations
working practices, procedures and processes.
Unicom has been awarded the ISO 9001:2008 standard which assesses the company against standard
requirements for a quality management system, focusing in particular on what the company does to
fulfil:
- The customer's quality requirements
- Applicable regulatory requirements, while aiming to enhance customer satisfaction, and
achieve continual improvement of its performance in pursuit of these objectives.
In order to achieve this standard, an independent assessor visited Unicom’s head office in Manchester
to review the processes and systems in place. The assessor reviewed the company process maps and
supporting documentation as well as discussing our internal processes with the staff who follow them
on a day to day basis.
In order to maintain the standard, Unicom is assessed once a year by an independent assessor against the
current standard. This lead to the original ISO 9001:2001 being updated to the revised ISO 9001:2008
standard.
