Micro Filters - Installation
Your installation pack contains two filters. They will look similar to this:
It is essential you install a filter on your line or extension for your broadband
to work. The filter separates signals into two, low frequency which the human ear
can hear and high frequency for data. The two signals operate at different frequencies
allowing you to stay connected to the internet and receive incoming/outgoing calls,
allowing for simultaneous data transfer.
If you do not have your phone/fax and modem connected to a filter you may face the
following problems:
- No connection possible on Broadband service: common symptoms include a flashing
ADSL light on your modem and Error 680 (No dial tone) on your computer.
- Intermittent loss of your Internet connection.
- Fuzzy or bad telephone connection when the modem is plugged in.
