UnicomVault

Why is data storage so important?

During a recent survey we found that 54% of our customers have no disaster recovery plan for their business critical data.

Now consider, as one of those customers, what would happen if your PC or laptop were stolen or damaged in a fire? All your files and business critical data would be lost, crippling your company.

While your insurance would cover the cost of replacing equipment, you would have no way to retrieve your contacts, account spreadsheets, customer details, letters... everything stored on your computer would be lost.

What is UnicomVault?

Recognising the importance of business data, Unicom has developed UnicomVault. After the simple installation and setup procedure you will be able to backup whatever files you need to, be it your customer database or the office party photos. All data will be encrypted and stored in two separate UK based Data Vaults where only you will have access to your stored data.

UnicomVault is charged at £11.99 per month, however if you are an existing Unicom customer you will receive a special discounted price of only £4.99 per month for our standard package.

UnicomVault Vs Other backup solutions

Our survey also revealed that 6% of customers use tape backup, with 14% backing up files to another computer. Unicom believes UnicomVault's online backup solution is the best, most affordable backup solution for our customers, offering the following advantages:

  UnicomVault Tape Other Computer
Offsite backup? Two different, UK based Data Vaults Only if you remember to take the tape offsite Impractical to take a desktop PC offsite and a laptop is vulnerable to theft
Automatically backs up critical data? Select the files to protect and when to backup and the software will do the rest Manually insert tape and initiate backup Possible with certain software, however manually copying files from one PC to another must be initiated by the user
Theft proof? Offsite storage, with 24hr CCTV Tapes must be taken offsite, and could still be stolen If a theft occurs both PCs are likely to be taken
Fire proof? Offsite storage has a full fire suppression system Only if tape is stored offsite or in a fireproof safe Fire would cause irreversible damage to both computer hard disks
Data quick to retrieve? Either individual or multiple files can be retrieved at the click of a button Tapes are notoriously slow at retrieving data, you often have to restore the entire tape You can normally retrieve individual or multiple files relatively quickly
