We are a small but long
established independent sailing school. We are an
RYA recognised centre with an AALA license ensuring a high standard
of safety. We have a wide range of equipment available to us. Thanks
to the professionalism and experience of our staff and instructors,
we are able to give a friendly personal service that can be tailored
to meet your exact requirements.
The school is based in Portloe
and has recently been refurbished and expanded to include free floating
practice jetties for students to learn how to land and tie up their
boats, a new clubhouse, secure boat storage areas and a dedicated
workshop that can handle almost all aspects of dinghy and sail repair.
Whether you are an experienced sailor, or a complete novice, we are sure to be able to cater to your needs and requirements. For the beginners and people who just love to be on the water relaxing, we have several stable teaching boats available for classes and hire including:
We also have a veritable flotilla of Toppers, Optimists and Laser Picos! We also have the facilities for you to bring your own boats and store them on site, or bring them down on road trailers for launching.
While you are under our beginner’s tuition, or enrolled in one of our classes, we have a number of motorised safety boats that will be constantly on duty in case of mishap. All safety boat crews are fully trained in First Aid and can give tips on sailing on the water. All safety boats are also equipped with radios and are able to summon help or the coast guard should the need arise.
Again we will continue to do what we do best, by offering you the best sailing tuition within the area and Craig Jervis or Magda Tutopolis will be pleased to introduce you to our staff of highly experienced and qualified instructors, all familiar with local waters.
